This Privacy Policy describes how Jian Chen (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the mobile application Today Energy Check (the “App”).

1. Scope of the App

Today Energy Check is a wellness planning tool. It helps you record how you feel, view a simple daily score, see trends, and optionally receive gentle pacing suggestions. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or emergency guidance.

2. Health information & self-assessment (not a diagnosis)

The number displayed in the App is a self-assessment calculated from information you enter (such as symptom levels and optional inputs). It is not a medical diagnosis, laboratory result, clinical risk score, or substitute for professional medical advice. For emergencies, contact local emergency services or your clinician.

These third-party sites are for general education only. They do not endorse the App and are not used to compute a medical diagnosis inside the App.

Third-party AI (OpenAI)

If you enable optional AI personalization, the App sends a minimized structured summary of your saved check-ins (dates; whether you indicated dialysis the prior day; fatigue, nausea, and dizziness levels on a 0–2 scale) to the app operator’s backend server you configure (EXPO_PUBLIC_AI_SERVER_URL). That server may forward a text prompt derived from this summary to OpenAI (OpenAI, L.L.C.) via the OpenAI API to generate short wellness-planning suggestions. OpenAI acts as a subprocessor for this feature. OpenAI’s privacy practices are described in their policy: https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy/. The App shows an in-app disclosure (what is sent and who receives it) and asks for your confirmation before this optional transmission.

Optional Pro features may require an active auto-renewable subscription purchased through the Apple App Store and/or Google Play. Payment processing is handled by Apple/Google. We do not collect or store your full payment card number.

Subscription title, length, price, auto-renewal, and cancellation are presented at purchase time and can be managed in your Apple ID or Google account subscription settings.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with service providers who help us operate the App (for example, hosting infrastructure and OpenAI for optional AI, or infrastructure for family links), subject to appropriate safeguards. Payment processing is handled by Apple/Google as described above.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information processed on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction).

If you use the App from outside your home country, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate.

We may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will change when we post revisions. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
